Hi Tom,

Great notes! Good to hear your view on some of the slides and what you would do differently. I'm going to have a good look at your theme.

Really enjoyed the French curry, I'm still telling people about those nann breads :-) mmmmm

@Peter I've found there's a balance between jobs where the tools are great (e.g symfony!) and working at a more high profile company like the BBC. It was a decision based on moving my career forward - must be a turning 30 thing! (I still do a lot of symfony dev weekends)

Take it easy,
John

Peter: job requirement. He got a good gig with that requirement, and it's not like they want him to write ASP (shudder)

That's right, John's speech was really great, I enjoyed it very much! The most interesting thing (I think) was that he was not really addressing issues of a backend as an administration feature for websites moderators etc, but he much rather meant the admin generator as a effective means for providing organisations with customised software tools for their staff to perform their work (-flows), as an at last(!) replacement for their self-made excels and MS access solutions that those staff often have developed themselves.

Did he say why he was using ZF at the moment instead of Symfony - choice, job requirement etc?
