Apostrophe 1.5.1 makes everything perfect forever

Well, maybe not everything. But pretty close.

We've released version 1.5.1 of Apostrophe. As the version number implies this is a bug fixing and stability-oriented release, although there are a few new touches thrown in to make a good user experience better.

Major areas that got attention in this release:

  • Image cropping
  • User permissions
  • Migration from older versions
  • Browsing for specific types of files (like Office files) for use in the file slot
  • CSS styling and user interface improvements
  • Easy Google Analytics setup
  • Easier overrides for developers
  • Linked YouTube, Vimeo, etc. accounts are more reliable
  • Better support for simultaneous use of administration features, like user and group admin
  • Internationalization fixes
  • New apostrophe:css-colors-report task reports all colors used in your CSS files and Apostrophe's
  • Better import of existing blogs
  • Developer mode for testing Disqus
  • Easy to find and manage "orphaned" blog posts (when an author is deleted)
  • Fixed a bug relating to blog posts written by admins showing the wrong author
  • Improvements to the blog and events admin
  • Uncategorized posts and events are easy to locate via the Category filter
  • Google Calendar URLs work reliably when the description of the event is long
  • And many more fixes and improvements.

You can find a more technical list of new features on the Apostrophe blog plugin and Apostrophe plugin changelog pages.

If you haven't already, definitely check out the Apostrophe demo. We recently moved the demo to ServerGrove VPS hosting, and I must say it is dramatically faster and downright fun to use.
